Anger Management Issues

One of my clients had problems with anger management – he would often get extremely angry, often with very little reason, and would lash out at his family.

He felt his wife was deliberately goading him, and he lashed out physically against her.

He really wanted to discover how to control his anger, so we met up for two sessions.

I treated a number of issues that had caused him to be angry in the past, and helped him look back at those situations in the past from a different point of view.

He realised himself that he should have handled certain situations in the past differently, and as a consequence he would have better relationships with his family, including his siblings.

The second session was nearly a week after the first, and whilst he used to get angry 1-2 times a day, since the first session he had kept his anger under control.

During the second session we also worked on his feelings towards his wife and helped him cope much better with how he reacted to his wife.

He realised he was quite antagonistic himself, and that arguments and his anger was often driven by set patterns in his marriage.

By understanding these patterns, and changing his feelings when the patterns occurred, he was able to keep his emotions much better under control.

After the two sessions he was extremely happy about the progress he had made.
